1. Information We Collect
My Athlete ("we", "our", or "the app") collects the following information to provide our youth sports development tracking service:
- Account Information: Email address and password (managed by Supabase Auth).
- Athlete Profiles: First name, last name, date of birth, biological sex, and selected sports. This information is provided by parents/guardians or coaches.
- Assessment Data: Physical measurements (height, weight) and sport-specific assessment scores recorded by parents or coaches.
- Team Information: Team names, join codes, and roster memberships.
- Device Data: We store data locally on your device for offline functionality using AsyncStorage. This data is synced to our servers when connectivity is available.
- Usage & Analytics Data: App interactions and feature-usage events, collected to understand how the app is used and to improve it.
- Crash & Diagnostic Data: Error and crash reports used to diagnose and fix bugs.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Calculate CDC growth percentiles and equivalent ages
- Grade and track athletic assessment progress over time
- Display developmental stage recommendations based on age
- Enable team collaboration between coaches and parents
- Provide general nutrition and recovery guidance
3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
My Athlete is designed for use by parents, guardians, and coaches to track youth athlete development. The app does not allow children under 13 to create accounts directly. All athlete data is entered and managed by an adult account holder (parent, guardian, or coach).
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us so we can delete it promptly.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in our cloud database hosted by Supabase (AWS us-east-1 region). We use Row-Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure that users can only access data belonging to their own family or teams they are members of. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may be shared in the following limited circumstances:
- Team Members: Coaches can see assessment data for athletes on their team roster. Parents can see their own children's data.
- Service Providers: We use a small number of trusted providers to operate the app: Supabase (authentication and data storage), PostHog (privacy-friendly product analytics), Sentry (crash and error reporting), and RevenueCat with the Apple App Store and Google Play (subscription processing). Each provider processes data only to perform its service and is governed by its own privacy policy.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid legal process.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access all data associated with your account
- Edit or correct athlete information at any time
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your data upon request
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated athlete profiles, assessment scores, growth entries, and team memberships will be permanently removed within 30 days.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify users through the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
